Innocence: Ghost in the Shell (Japanese title: Innocence: Kokaku Kidotai) is the planned sequel to the Ghost in the Shell anime film. The Japanese release date is for at March 6, 2004. It will have a budget of approximately US $10 million.
Like the first, the movie will be directed by Mamoru Oshii, and will be based on a manga by Masamune Shirow, called Ghost in the Shell: Man Machine Interface, which follows the original Ghost in the Shell series. The movie is being produced by Production I.G, which also produced the original movie and the spinoff TV series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
The film will apparently feature many characters from the original, focusing mainly on the character of Bateau.
