Internet Information Server or IIS is Microsoft's web server software. IIS runs only on Microsoft's Windows operating system.

IIS is the second most popular webserver, after the market leader, Apache.

IIS has suffered from a series of security vulnerabilities, often exploited by attackers and computer worms.
