Iyonix PC

The Iyonix PC is an Acorn-clone personal computer from Castle Technology Ltd.

Features include:

• Intel XScale (StrongARM) 80321 600MHz 32 bit processor
• two 64 bit and two 32 bit PCI ports
• RISC OS version 5 in hardware ROM module
• support for the Linux operating system [1]

Being the first substancial new computer for the Acorn RISC OS/ARM platform since the RISC PC, the Iyonix PC fillfulls a key position for RISC OS users. It is comparible with what the Phoebe PC would have been should Acorn Ltd had not chosen in 1998 to withdraw from the personal-computer market.

The Iyonix also happens to be ideal for developing ARM-based PDA applications.

Units first went on sale in December 2002.
