county located in the
State of
West Virginia. As of
2000, the population is 28,000. Its

Geography
\nAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,221
km² (472
mi²). 1,206 km² (466 mi²) of it is land and 15 km² (6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.23% water.

2000, there are 28,000 people, 11,061 households, and 8,207 families residing in the county. The
population density is 23/km² (60/mi²). There are 12,245 housing units at an average density of 10/km² (26/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.75%
