James Hahn is an American politician from the Democratic Party. Hahn is currently the Mayor of Los Angeles, California. He is the son of the late Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn. His father was known as an ardent supporter of civil rights.
Hahn served twelve years as city attorney before defeating former State Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, a fellow Democrat, by 9% in the 2001 mayoral run-off election.
