Jamie Lee Curtis (born November 22, 1958) is an American actress born in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She is known as the Scream Queen in arguably her most memorable role of Laurie Strode in Halloween. She has a sister named Kelly Curtis, who is also an actress.
She married the actor Christopher Guest in 1984. She became Lady Haden-Guest of Saling when her husband inherited the Barony in 1996.
It has sometimes been alleged in high school and college biology courses that Curtis was born an intersexual, but it is unknown whether this is an urban legend or fact. The supposition usually refers to androgen insensitivity syndrome. Only her doctors and family members know for certain. Even if it is true, the fact is that the issue is not all that rare. 1 out of 2000 to 3000 births each year show a large enough deformity where significant surgical correction would be recommended, with about 1 in 100 births showing some lesser form of ambiguity. Additionally, the commentators at the popular urban legend website Snopes.com have these words of wisdom: "As only someone who has seen True Lies can say, if that's not all woman, then maybe we need to rethink what is."
