Jean-C LaPierre (born May 7, 1956) in Bassin, Quebec
A Canadian politician, LaPierre is a former member of the Bloc Quebecois (1990-1993) Independent (1990) and the Liberal Party of Canada (1979-1990) in the Canadian House of Commons, representing the riding of Shefford. Jennings was a broadcaster and lawyer. While in office, LaPierre served as Minister of State (Amateur Sport), Minister of State (Youth), Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of State (Sports), Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State of Canada, and Parliamentary Secretary of State for External Affairs. LaPierre switched parties in 2004 back to the Liberals, and will be running for them in the Canadian federal election, 2004 in the riding of Outremont.
