Joey DeMaio is a bass player and main songwriter for the Heavy Metal band Manowar which he founded in 1980.
Born in Auburn, NY, DeMaio played bass in several school bands. He worked as a light-effect technician for Black Sabbath during their "Heaven and Hell tour".
Joey is also a practicioner of martial arts and weighlifting.
In 2003, shortly after creating magic circle music, a music label, he became manager and producer for the Power metal band Rhapsody.
