Kingwood was a town in Harris County, Texas.
In 1996, Kingwood and its 50,000 residents were annexed to the city of Houston, which was the largest annexation in Texas history. Some residents in the town were opposed to it and tried to set up a petition in 1999 for deannexation, but they failed.
