Køge is a municipality in east Denmark, in the county of Roskilde on the peninsula of Zealand. The municipality covers an area of 124 km², and has a total population of 38,820. Køge municipality encompasses the smaller towns of Køge Nord (Ølby and Ølsemagle), Køge Proper, Lille Skensved, Lellinge, Algestrup, Herfølge and Hastrup.

Køge is a well preserved old town not far from Copenhagen, at the end of the Copenhagen urban railway line; the oldest house in Denmark can be found there.
