county located in the
U.S. State of
Tennessee. As of

Geography
\nAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,313
km² (507
mi²). 1,218 km² (470 mi²) of it is land and 95 km² (37 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 7.23% water.

2000, there are 27,101 people, 9,567 households, and 6,811 families residing in the county. The
population density is 22/km² (58/mi²). There are 10,563 housing units at an average density of 9/km² (22/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 63.82%
