Lawrence Watt-Evans (born 1954) is the pseudonym of American science fiction author Lawrence Watt Evans. Born in eastern Massachusetts as the fourth of six children, he made his first attempts at writing when he was seven.
After graduating from high school, he attended Princeton University and failed twice to get a degree. He also began to try to sell his writing at this time, but he failed until he produced The Lure of the Basilisk and thereupon began writing full time.
