Lieutenant General is a military rank used in many countries.

In the United States Army, Air Force and Marine Corps, a lieutenant general is a three-star general. The comparable rank in the US Navy is Vice Admiral.

In the British military, Lieutenant General is an office of the Army and of the Royal Marines, the comparable ranks being Vice-Admiral in the case of the Royal Navy and the Air Marshal in the case of the Royal Air Force.
