The Right Honourable Lord Sir Arthur Christopher John Soames, 1st Baron Soames of Fletching (October 12, 1920-September 16, 1987) was the last Governor-General of Zimbabwe. Soames married Mary Churchill (daughter of Winston Churchill) on February 11, 1947.
His son, Nicholas Soames, is the current Tory Shadow Secretary of State for Defense.
