There were two Medici whose full formal name was Lorenzo di Piero de' Medici:

• Lorenzo de' Medici (1449-1492) (il Magnifico)
• Lorenzo II de' Medici (1492-1519) (his grandson, the Duke of Urbino)

The dedication to "Lorenzo di Piero de' Medici" in The Prince of Machiavelli is to the grand-son.
