Magcargo (Magukarugo) is a Lava Pokemon, and its type is Fire/Rock. Magcargo was first introduced in Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver, as Pokemon #219 in the classical Pokedex ordering. Magcargo looks like a slug which resembles lava, and has a rocky shell on its back, hence the rock type. This dual type gives Magcargo an undesired quadruple weakness to Water and Ground type attacks. It is an evolved form of Slugma, which evolves at level 38, which does not have this quadruple weakness. Magcargo belongs to the Indeterminate egg group.
Because of its weak stats, weaknesses, and move selection (see later sections), it is considered one of the most pathetic fully evolved Pokemon.

Magcargo is about 0.79 meters tall, and has a mass of 54.885 kilograms. The gender ratio of Magcargo is 50% male and 50% female. Magcargo's base stats are as follows:
* HP: 50 * Attack: 50 * Defense: 120 * Speed: 30 * S. Attack: 80 * S. Defense: 80The only thing decent about its stats are its Defense and Special Attack, but those do not do it a lot of good in a battle.
After battling a Magcargo, a Pokemon will earn 2 effort points for Defense.

Location
In Pokemon GSC, Magcargo cannot be found in the wild, however, Slugma can be found during the day along Route 16 and Route 18 at level 27, rarely. During the daytime, it is more common along Route 17, at levels 25 through 27. In that same area, it is a lot less abundant during the nighttime, though is at level 29.
Trainer Info
In the metallic trio of games, Blaine, Gym Leader of Cinnabar Island. For this, Blaine is often revered as quite possibly one of the bravest Pokemon Trainers for having the guts to raise a Magcargo.
Both of Blaine's Magcargo are at Level 45.
No other trainer in any other Pokemon game has ever owned a Magcargo.

Breeding Moves
One can acquire a Magcargo with Acid Armor by having a Grimer learn it at level 40, and then breeding with either a Slugma or a Magcargo.
Magcargo can learn Flamethrower from the Move Tutor in Pokemon Crystal.
Magcargo can learn Acid Armor the same we it could in GSC, and can also be passed down from a Gulpin.
Slugma can also learn Heat Wave from a breeding chain that is yet undetermined.
