Mahendra Chaudhry (born 1942) was the Prime Minister of Fiji for the Fiji Labour Party. He was a former labor leader.
He became Fiji's first ethnic Indian prime minister in 1999, but he and his government were taken hostage in 2000 by George Speight, in the Fiji Coup of 2000. He was sacked by the President Ratu Kamisese Mara during this crisis, was later released and embarked on a tour of the world to rally support.
