Metre per second
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

An SI derived unit of speed (scalar) and velocity (vector), defined by distance in metres divided by time in secondss. The unit is given as m/s.

A typical human walking speed is about 1 m/s. Below a speed of about 2 m/s, it is more efficient to walk than to run, but above that speed, it is more efficient to run.

The speed of light is about 300,000,000 m/s.

A car travelling at 60 miles per hour (mi/h or informally mph) or 100 kilometers per hour (km/h) is going 28 m/s.

The speed of sound in air varies according to air pressure and temperature. Under standard conditions, sound travels through air at about 343 m/s.

1 metre per second = 3.2808 feet per second = 2.2369 miles per hour.

1 m/s = 3.6 km/h
