Microsoft Visual Studio is a series of suites of software design, compilation and IDEs programs by Microsoft.
Visual Studio includes one or more of the following. Components can be added in a modular fashion to the main application.
In the past, the following products were included:- Interdev (web page development, now arguably supplanted by FrontPage)
- Visual J++, a Java development tool
- Visual FoxPro xBase programming language now allied to but independent from the Visual Studio platform.
- Visual Studio 5.0
- Visual Studio 6.0 (still popular with game developers)
- Visual Studio .NET
- Visual Studio .NET 2003
- Visual Studio "Whidbey" (currently in alpha)
