Mommie Dearest
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Mommie Dearest is a book written by actress Joan Crawford's adopted daughter, Christina. It accounts Christina's fearful childhood growing up abused by her psychotic mother.

A movie adaptation was made in 1981. The part of Joan was played by Faye Dunaway who garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of the late actress. Coincidently, though Dunaway portrayed her as an abusive lunatic, in an interview before she died in 1977, Joan Crawford said that if her life was ever to be made into a movie, she wanted Faye Dunaway to play her.
