The Norwegian Defense Research Establishment, also known by the Norwegian abbreviation FFI, is located in Kjeller, Norway.

FFI is known for:

• Development of a range of computers in the early 1960s that eventually led to that creation of Norsk Data:
  • LYDIA in 1962

  • SAM2
• Development of the Penguin missile
