From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Nvu (pronounced "N-view") is a WYSIWYG Web authoring system based on the Composer component of Mozilla. It is intended to be an open source equivalent to proprietary software like Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Nvu is designed to be extremely easy for non-technical computer users to use without needing to know HTML or web coding. Version 0.1 was released on February 4, 2004.

Nvu is being written by Daniel Glazman, ex-Netscape Communications Corporation and currently of Mozilla and Disruptive Innovations. The project is sponsored by Lindows.

Nvu is available for Linux and Microsoft Windows. The Composer is still under development as a part of the Mozilla suite for other platforms.
