Olduvai Gorge

The Olduvai Gorge is a steep-sided ravine, part of the Great Rift Valley which stretches along eastern Africa. Olduvai is in the eastern Serengeti Plains, northern Tanzania, east Africa.

Olduvai is the location of the first monolith in Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey series of books.
