Ooststellingwerf (population: 26,725) is a municipality in the northern Netherlands, in the province of Friesland. The municipality covers an area of 226.08 km² (of which 1.32 km² is water).
The municipality of Ooststellingwerf consists the following towns, villages and townships: Appelscha, Donkerbroek, Elsloo, Fochteloo, Haule, Haulerwijk, Langedijke, Makkinga, Nijeberkoop, Oldeberkoop, Oosterwolde, Ravenswoud, Waskemeer.
