Oswald Achenbach was a German landscape painter, born in Düsseldorf, February 2, 1827. He died in 1905.
He painted mostly scenes in Italy, and some historic pictures. He became a professor in the painting school at Düsseldorf.
His brother Andreas Achenbach was also a painter.
