P-block

d-block f-block g-block p-block s-block Subgroups 13 (IIIB,IIIA): Boron Group 14 (IVB,IVA): Carbon Group 15 (VB,VA): Nitrogen Group 16 (VIB,VIA): Chalcogens 17 (VIIB,VIIA): Halogens 18 (Group 0): Noble gases

P-block (for principal, although this orbital has nothing to do with principal quantum number) elements are made up of elements in group 13-18 in the periodic table which all occupy the highest energy orbital, the p orbital. The outer electron shell configurations of all these elements all have the from ns²np^x (x=1 to 6)
