Pair production
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Pair production is a physical process which occurs when two high-energy photons collide and produce a particle and an antiparticle. Electrons and positrons are frequently produced by this process because the light weight of the electron allows relatively low-energy gamma rays to create particle pairs.
