During the period of the Three Kingdoms in China, Pang Tong (龐統) originally wanted to serve under the Kingdom of Wu, but the leader of Wu thought he was ugly and did not let him serve. Later, he went to Liu Bei and served under him. When Liu Bei went to meet Liu Zhang, ruler of the Kingdom of Shu, Pang Tong advised Liu Bei to kill him. Unfortunately for Pang Tong, the idea was rejected.
When Liu Bei attacked Liu Zhang, Pang Tong was to go across a pass to meet with Liu Bei. However, he was ambushed while crossing it, shot in the chest, and killed.
His name usually is of the same status as Zhuge Liang. Zhuge Liang read from the stars and told Liu Bei to leave Pang Tong in Jing Zhou, this angered Pang Tong to go to meet his death, this was a ploy by Zhuge Liang because he felt threatened by Tong's ingenuity. Pang Tong never actually served Wu, he helped at Chi Bi, and then went to serve Sun Quan, Quan was unsure about him because of Pang Tong's appearance.
