Parabellum

Parabellum means "prepare for war". The term is often heard in relation to ammunition; for example : "nine millimeter parabellum" (also known as: 9mm Luger, 9x19mm)

The Parabellum name comes from the ancient Latin saying si vis pacem, para bellum: "if you want peace, prepare for war".
