Phragmipedium (Rolfe 1896) is a genus of the Orchid family (Orchidaceae) (SUBFAMILY Cypripediodiae). As many as 20 species in this genus are known from Central and South America, in comparison to the genus Paphiopedilum which is known from Asia and the Pacific.
All members of the genus Phragmipedium are Appendix I on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
Allied genera include Paphiopedilum, Selenipedium and the monotypic Mexipedium.
