In the fiction universe of Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta is the home planet of Vegeta, Goku, Nappa, Radditz and all other native Saiyans.
The planet was destroyed by Frieza during Vegeta's father's reign and although the whole population put up a defence and Vegeta's father boarded Frieza's ship Frieza killed the entire population with an immense energy ball. Only Goku, Vegeta, Radditz and Nappa survived the planets destruction.
