The Plitvice Lakes are a national park in Croatia, situated at 44° 22' N, 15° 26' E. The river Korana has formed 20 lakes across the limestone and chalk barriers. Between the lakes there are lots of marvellous waterfalls and cascades.
The lakes are divided in two major groups: the Upper and the Lower ones.
Larger upper lakes include:
- Prošćansko
- Ciginovac
- Okrugljak veliko
- Galovac
- Gradinsko
- Kozjak
- Milanovac
