There are over ten thousands Poles living in Romania - mainly in the villages of Suceava region. There are even three exclusively Polish villages of Nowy Soloniec, Plesza and Polana Mikuli.

Poles in Romania are oficially recognized as national minority. As such, they have one seat in Romanian House of Deputies (currently held by Mr. Gerwazy Longher) and access to Polish elementary schools and cultural centers (known as "Polish Houses").
