Porbandar is a town in the Gujarat province of India. It has a population of somewhat over 100 000. It is an important port located on the Arabian Sea on the west coast of the Indian peninsula. The town is best known for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. It is today a tourist centre and is served by an airport and train line.
