Portuguese Grand Prix
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The first Portuguese Grand Prix was in Oporto the 14th of August 1958 .The last Portuguese Grand Prix was in Estoril the 22nd of September 1996. Estoril was planned to be the European Grand Prix in 1997 but improvements to the circuit were not finished in time. The Portuguese Grand Prix has seen many big crashes since 1990. Example: the crash of Ukyo Katayama (Japanese) involving many other drivers on the back of the grid including a unlucky Frentzen who was pushed off the track by the flying front wing of Montermini (Italian).
