Publius Claudius Pulcher

Publius Claudius Pulcher (of the Claudii family) was a Roman general. He was the son of the famous Roman politician Appius Claudius Caecus. Curulian aedil 253 BC, Consul in 249. He lost the sea-battle of Drepana against the Carthagians in 249. Back in Rome, he was tried for incompetence and impiety and died soon afterwards.
