Red Harvest

Red Harvest is a Dashiell Hammett story of a detective whose client is killed before they met. For reasons that the only the reader can guess, he takes the endeavor of cleaning the gangs filled city of Poisonville.

There have been at least three different and uncredited renditions of the book Red Harvest in film.

• Yojimbo (1961)
• Per un pugno di dollari (1964) also known as A Fistful of Dollars
• Last Man Standing

Per un pugno di dollari is a remake of Yojimbo by Akira Kurosawa.

Alberto Bertolucci tried to bring the book to the screen, but the movie was never made. He may still own rights to the book.
