Remington Steele was an American television series first broadcast on the NBC network from 1982 to 1987.
It followed the intertwined lives of a private detective partnered with a former thief who assumed the role of a fictitious detective in her private investigations firm. Because she was female she didn't get jobs, so she made up a male partner called Remington Steele. The series was about the tensions caused when a male (Pierce Brosnan) turned up and filled in for the non-existent Remington Steele.
