From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Renting is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of something owned by someone else. Examples:
- a form of housing tenure where the person who lives in the house is a tenant paying rent to a landlord who owns it.
- video, DVD, CD, CD-ROM
- If you don't want to pay a lot to own a video or DVD permanently, you can pay a small amount (usually two or three UK pounds a night) to rent it just for a day or two. You'll probably need to set up an account at your local video shop. Video shops often want to see some form of photo ID plus a couple of proofs of where you live - like bills with your address on.
- car, bike, boat
- tool
