Takahashi, Rumiko (高橋 留美子) Japanese manga artist, creator of Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, and most recently Inuyasha.
Her stories are very popular in the USA where they have been released as both manga and anime in English translation.
