Sanjay Kumar (born 1962) is the Chairman & CEO of Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA ). He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka; he emigrated with his family to the U.S in 1976 to escape civil unrest, moving to South Carolina.

- 1987: Computer Associates pays $800 million to acquire Dallas-based mainframe competitor UCCEL Corp, where Kumar was director of software development
- 1988: Vice President of Planning - Kumar moves to CA headquarters in Long Island to assume various leadership roles in development, strategic planning and operations
- 1989: Senior Vice President of Planning
- 1993: Executive Vice President of Operations
- 1994: Kumar named President and Chief Operating Officer at age 31, Director
- 2000: Kumar replaces mentor Charles B. Wang as Chief Executive Officer
- 2002: Kumar appointed Chairman of CA's board of directors
