Sawing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Sawing was an execution method used in the Spanish Inquisiton.

The condemned was hung upside down and then sawed apart down the middle, starting at the crotch. Since the condemned was hanging upside-down, the brain recieved an increased flow of blood, and the person would remain alive and conscious until the saw severed the aorta, or sometimes even longer.
