Sheldon Souray (b. July 13, 1976 in Elk Point, Alberta) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays defence for the Montreal Canadiens. He was drafted in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft Third round (71st overall) by the New Jersey Devils where he played from 1997 to 1999 before he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on March 1, 2000 aigainst Vladimir Malakhov. He suffered a serious wrist injury which kept him out for the entire 2002-2003 season but has made a comeback in which his career has slowly begun to improve and he has become a leading player on the team.
