Shi

Shi is

1. The Chinese term (詩) for poetry. Refer to Chinese poetry.
2. A Chinese family name (施 shi1 or 時 or 石 shi2 or 史 shi3).
3. The royal family name of the Later Zhao in China.
4. A lowest rank of Chinese noble 士 during Zhou Dynasty. Later the character simply means a government official.
5. A piece 士 or 仕 in Chinese chess.
