Shipston-on-Stour is a small rural town located in southern Warwickshire, England close to the border with Oxfordshire. Its population is about 5,000.
The town is located on the River Stour, in the northern Cotswolds, and is a focal point for the surrounding rural area.
It is located on the A3400 road between Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford and was once an important stopping place for stagecoaches. Many former coaching inn's remain in the town.
