Shurgard Storage Centers, Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1972 in Olympia, Washington by Chuck Barbo, it has been publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SHU since 1994.
