Southern Africa

Southern Africa refers to the southern part of the African continent. It is regarded as being part of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Some countries that could be regarded as being part of Southern Africa are:

• Angola
• Botswana
• Lesotho
• Madagascar
• Malawi
• Mauritius
• Mozambique
• Namibia
• Reunion
• Swaziland
• South Africa
• Tanzania
• Zambia
• Zimbabwe

Southern Africa faces unique challenges, and these are addressed through the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
