The name "Spearow" is a combination of spear and sparrow, a type of bird.
Spearow is a small bird Pokémon. It eats insects in grassy areas, and has short wings, which means Spearow has to fly fast to stay airborne, and can't fly very far or high. It also uses it's wings for flushing out insects from tall grass, and plucks at them with it's beak.
Since it isn't the strongest of Pokémon, it has to fly around ceaselessly, making high-pitched sounds to scare off other wild Pokémon and protect it's territory.
Spearow is found on Routes 3, 4, 9, 11, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23 in Pokémon Red, Blue, Fire Red, and Leaf Green, Routes 3, 4, 9, 16, 18, 22 in Pokémon Yellow, Route 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 22, 33, 42, 46 and by using Headbutt in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Spearow is not avaliable in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, but you can trade from Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Spearow is vulnerable to Electric, Ice and Rock, and strong against Grass, Ground, Bug and Ghost.Name Origin
