A triathlon is an athletic event made up of three contests. The usual triathlon is a combination of swimming, cycling and running.
There are a number of standard triathlon race distances, including the sprint distance, which is typically comprised of a 750 meter swim, followed by a 20 km bike, followed by a 5 km run.
