Steve Linford
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Steve Linford, also known as Stiff Linefeed (after a Chinese government official got his name wrong), is the anti-spammer who founded Spamhaus.''

Linford was born in England. His parents moved to Rome where his father ran an industrial platinum factory. After dropping out of photography school, Steve purchased a motor home, parked it on beaches and made his living writing music. When artists such as Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson toured Italy, Linford served as their production manager.

In 1986, Linford drove his motor home to England where he set up a company which eventually became Ultradesign Internet. After getting fed up with the amount of spam he and his customers were receiving, he became an anti-spam activist developing online tools to fight the problem.

In 1998, he started Spamhaus ("The Spamhaus Project"). Currently his antispam system is used by many of the world's largest Internet providers and serves 200 million e-mail users.
